Always check the range of the controller. Do not exceed about 80% of specified the range. Most quadcopters that get lost are ‘flyway’. This happens when the quadcopter is in RC (Radio Control) mode and exceeds the range of the controller. If your controller is good for about 100 feet, make sure that you keep the quadcopter within about 80 feet.
Wind condition, greater than 20 miles per hour, will also affect your flight range.
Radio interference can also affect your flight range.
It is a good practice to put in fully-charged batteries in the controller every time you go out, or get a controller that will alert you when you have a low battery. Consider a feature of removable battery and bring extra battery for an additional set of flight time.
