Syma X5SW Explorers 2 2.4G 4CH review

Last Updated on November 1, 2018

The Syma X5SW Explorers2 2.4G 4CH is a great beginner drone for kids 14 years old and up. Why? It has a great set of helpful features that a beginner drone pilot needs, such as:

  • Light weight enough to fly in-doors.
  • Body is shatter resistant plastic.
  • Comes with extra blade protectors and extra propellers.
  • 360 degree roll with the one button flip!
  • The First Person View (FPV) camera is HD and allows even a beginner to shoot an in-flight video. There is a holder on the ground controller to allow you to clamp on your smart phone and then watch the flight. Viewer apps available for Android OS and IOS smart phones.
  • Headless mode allows the pilot to turn the direction of the quadcopter’s flight without having to turn the direction of “front” on the quadcopter. This makes it easier to fly and a beginner pilot can learn to fly much sooner.
  • The price is in the right range for a beginner.
  • In most areas this quadcopter can be used to race in the “open” class. At 315 mm is too big for some racing leagues.

Summary: Syma X5SW Explorers2 2.4G 4CH

The Syma X5SW Explorers2 2.4G 4CH (View on Amazon) is one the very best quadcopters to learn on. Light weight enough so that you can practice indoors without doing a lot of damage. It comes with spares for the parts that a beginner is most likely to break. It has 4CH with 6 Axis, 0.3 MP 480P camera, Ready to fly (just attach and tighten props). The right-hand controller can be configured for left hand throttle. Controller range is about 50 Meters. Flight time is about 7 minutes. It has a plastic body which is designed to be shatter resistant, another good feature for a beginner.

The FPV camera gives the experience of looking out the front of the quadcopter’s nose. Since you can record the view, you can show it off later too. This quadcopter will be a fairly inexpensive way to begin learning to be a drone pilot.
